Carpet installation method and carpet construction process

The first step is the carpet base layer.
Generally, it is a cement floor, but it can also be a wooden floor or other materials. The surface needs to be flat, smooth and clean. If there is any oil stain, it must be wiped clean with acetone or turpentine. If it is a cement floor, it should have a certain strength, the moisture content should not be greater than 8%, and the surface flatness deviation should not be greater than 4mm.

Part Two, Cutting the Carpet
① Carpet cutting should be carried out centrally and uniformly in a relatively wide area. Be sure to accurately measure the room dimensions and register the numbers by room and type of carpet used.
② Then use an edge trimmer to cut off the carpet material according to the size and shape of the room. The length of each carpet section is about 2cm longer than the room. The width should be calculated based on the size after cutting off the edge line of the carpet.
③Cut off the edge of the elastic thread, and then cut it from the back of the blanket with a hand-pushed knife. After cutting, roll it into a roll, number it, and put it in the designated room. For large spaces, the stitching should be cut at the construction site.

Step 3: Fix carpet accessories
Along the edges of the skirting boards around the room or walkway, use high-strength cement nails to nail the barbed boards to the base (nails toward the wall), with a spacing of about 40cm. The barb board should be 8~10mm away from the skirting board surface to facilitate nailing the barb board.

Step 4: Lay carpet padding
Apply 107 glue or polyvinyl acetate latex to the liner using the spot-gluing method, and stick it to the base layer of the ground, leaving it about 10mm away from the barbed board.

Step 5: Install the carpet
1. Standard method of installing carpets
Lay the cut carpet on the underlayment, then roll up the carpet and sew at the spliced areas. After the sewing is completed, use plastic tape to stick to the seam to protect the seam from being scratched or lifted. Then lay the carpet flat, and use bent nails to make dense gaps at the seam.
Stretching and fixing carpets
First, fix one long edge of the carpet on the barb board, hide the raw edge under the baseboard, and use carpet supports to stretch the carpet until it is flat. Then fix the carpet to another barbed board and hide the raw edges. If the carpet grows, cut it off with a cutting knife. Stretch the rug in the other direction until all four sides are secured to the barb board.

2. Simple carpet installation method
Fix carpet with adhesive
Paste with adhesive, apply the adhesive on the base layer, and bond and fix the carpet in time. This method is divided into two methods: full bonding and partial bonding. Partial bonding can be used in hotel guest rooms and residential rooms, and full bonding can be used in public places.
When laying a carpet, first apply adhesive on one side of the room, lay out the pre-cut carpet, then use carpet supports to pull it to both sides, and then apply two strips of adhesive along the wall to flatten the carpet to cover the edges.

Step 6: Detailed carpet processing and cleaning
Attention should be paid to the processing of door battens and door frames, walkways and halls, floors and pipe roots, heating covers, trough boxes, walkways and bathroom thresholds, stair treads and aisle platforms, inner doors and outer doors, junctions of carpets of different colors and skirting boards, etc.
The over-cutting, fixing and edge-covering work of local carpets must be firmly bonded, and there should be no damage such as exposure or patching.
After the carpet is laid and the closing strips are fixed, it should be cleaned with a vacuum cleaner and the fluff that has fallen off the carpet surface should be thoroughly cleaned.
